Is Craniosacral Therapy dangerous?

I get the question, what is Craniosacral therapy? Almost every day. I hope this helps answer your question.

Craniosacral therapists point people back to their power. Humans have the innate ability to heal. Craniosacral therapy helps people tap into that force. Your body knows what it needs to do. A Craniosacral therapist’s job is to create the container for your body to express health. The power behind Craniosacral therapy is that it is not limited by what a therapist thinks your body needs. Instead, we listen to what your body needs at each moment. This creates long-lasting holistic results. People leave their session feeling more expansive, happier, more capable.

What is Craniosacral therapy used for?
Craniosacral therapy is useful in helping people with pain, stress, and anxiety. People often come in complaining about a pain in their body, whiplash, vertigo, and jaw tension are common symptoms. Other common symptoms are, trouble sleeping and problems with digestion. And while I have had success in treating these symptoms, what I find remarkable is how holistic their health improves in their life. Difficult circumstances in their life would quite quickly resolve as they became empowered to tap into being in the right relationship with themselves.

What is Craniosacral therapy used to treat?
Craniosacral helps treat symptoms of a hyperactive nervous system. There is a ton of stress in modern life. We often don’t give ourselves the amount of downtime that we need throughout a day to feel adequately resourced. Just yesterday I was put in an overwhelming situation where I had to perform at a level much higher than I anticipated with very little natural space to disengage, I completed the job. I was able to find space afterward to ground myself and shake off that intense stress. Many people find themselves in stressful situations like that every day. Stress like that is unsustainable and creates specific symptoms in your body. Stress creates symptoms like insomnia, muscle tension, low energy, headaches, frequent colds, lack of sexual desire, and much more. Craniosacral therapy acts as a hard reset to your nervous system, creating a much-needed reboot that allows your body to feel more open, more expansive, more in touch with what makes you feel alive.

Are there any dangers to Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is very gentle and is safe for pregnant mothers and babies. There are no dangers that I can identify. I instruct all of my clients that if anything feels uncomfortable or painful to speak up, and we can pause or make an adjustment. Craniosacral therapists work with clients to create an environment where they feel safe, heard, and heard. Craniosacral therapists are not licensed or trained to treat or diagnose any disease, and you should not take the suggestions of a Craniosacral therapist as medical advice.
